〈먼 동〉

아침에 깨어나 창가에 다가가

먼동이 트는 것을 바라본다

산 능선이 뚜렷해지고

새들도 시작이다, 지지배배

나는 문득

지난날 나의 모든 거짓들을

그리고 낡은 습관들을

뭉개버리고 싶어

나도 새처럼 지지배배

경이로 가득 찬 새벽기운을 놓치지 말아야지

새로운 삶의 비밀을 발견하기 위해

 

나는 오늘도

창가에 다가가

먼동이 트는 것을 바라본다

날이 밝아올 무렵의 동쪽을

At Dawn

I wake up in the morning
And approach the window
And watch the dawn break.
The mountain ridges become clear
And the birds begin to chirp, chirp, chirp.
I suddenly
Want to crush all my lies
And old habits.
I chirp, chirp, chirp
Like a bird.
I must not miss the dawn full of wonder
To discover the secrets of a new life.

Today I go up
The window,
And I watch the day breaks
In the east at dawn.
